Queens, NY (February 8, 2023) – Emergency responders were called to the scene of an auto-pedestrian collision that took place on Wednesday morning, February 8th. The incident was reported at around 9:24 a.m. in the Elmhurst section of Queens.
Law enforcement officials say that an unidentified person was traveling on foot when they entered the intersection of Queens Boulevard and Hillyer Street. A motor vehicle then traveled through the junction, where it struck the pedestrian, knocking them to the ground.
Either someone involved in the collision or a nearby witness alerted 911, and dispatchers quickly sent emergency responders to the scene. Upon their arrival, EMTs attended to the injured party, who was then transported to a local medical facility. Authorities have not released any information regarding the condition of the patient at this time.
Investigators are presently working to establish the events that led to this incident.
