School Bus Accidents in North Carolina
School bus accidents, while less common than other vehicle crashes, can have serious consequences when they occur. Collisions involving buses can lead to significant injuries due to their size, weight, and the number of people they may carry. In North Carolina, crashes on major highways like I-40 often involve high-speed impacts, making them particularly dangerous.
Victims of bus accidents may be eligible for compensation if another party's negligence contributed to the crash. North Carolina follows a contributory negligence system, meaning that injured individuals must prove they were not at fault in order to recover damages. Legal guidance can be crucial in helping victims seek compensation for medical expenses, lost wages, and other losses.
Following a bus accident, seeking immediate medical attention and documenting the scene can be critical steps toward recovery. Understanding insurance policies and liability laws can also help those affected navigate their options.
