Ramapo, NY (June 16, 2020) – Eleven people were involved in a crash that left two dead and nine injured on Monday afternoon, June 15th at around 4:21 p.m. on New Hempstead Road in the town of Ramapo.
According to officers, all those involved were traveling in a 2009 Ford Econoline when the vehicle left the roadway and struck a tree in the vicinity of Conway Court. Police and firefighters arrived at the scene where several of the victims had to be extricated from the van. All occupants were transported to Westchester Medical Center or Nyack Hospital.
Two male victims, ages 22 and 47, were pronounced deceased at Nyack Hospital shortly after they arrived. Some of the victims were listed in serious condition but police have not provided any further details on the injured parties.
The cause of this accident is under investigation.
