Rich Valley Twp, MN – Fatal Collision on Hwy 7 & Kale Ave

Rich Valley Twp, MN (November 19, 2023) – A devastating two-vehicle collision resulted in two fatalities and two life-threatening injuries on Saturday, November 18. The crash occurred on Hwy 7 at the intersection with Kale Ave in Rich Valley Township, McLeod County, around 6:30 p.m. Chad Michael Guzinski, 34, from Mayer, MN, and Thomas Francis Burns, 68, from Watertown, SD, both drivers, were pronounced dead at the scene.

Their respective passengers, Grant David Guzinski, 27, also from Mayer, MN, and Carolyn Lee Burns, 64, from Watertown, SD, suffered life-threatening injuries. They were transported to Hennepin County Medical Center for treatment. According to reports, the collision involved a 2012 Buick LaCrosse and a 2019 Jeep Renegade. Both vehicles had their airbags deployed.

McLeod County Sheriff’s Office, Hutch & Silver Lake Fire Departments, and Allina Ambulance responded to the scene. No alcohol was involved in the incident. Investigations are ongoing to determine the specific cause of this tragic collision. Top of Form
