Richmond Township, MI – Critical Injuries in US-10 Crash, Two Flown to Hospital

Richmond Township, MI (November 19, 2023) – A severe crash on US-10 near Lakola Road in Richmond Township on Saturday necessitated urgent medical responses, including two people being airlifted to the hospital.

The Osceola County Sheriff’s Office reported to the scene of the crash, which involved a head-on collision between a Ford Fusion and a GMC Pickup. The Ford Fusion, driven by a 17-year-old Evart man with three passengers, crossed the center line and collided with the GMC, driven by a 51-year-old Baldwin man with his 12-year-old daughter and 4-year-old son.

Reed City Fire Rescue used Jaws of Life to extract the critically injured. An Aeromed helicopter transported the Ford’s driver and front-seat passenger to Grand Rapids Hospital, while five others were taken by ambulance to Reed City Corwell Hospital. Speed is suspected to be a factor in this tragic incident, with investigations ongoing to determine the exact cause.
