Richmond, VA (December 13, 2022) – A fire took place in the Richmond area on Sunday morning that claimed the life of a beloved pet while leaving one person injured. At around 1015 a.m., on December 11, the Richmond fire Department responded to the scene of a fire that broke out in a home at 107 North Harvie Street.
According to authorities, a fire broke out inside of the structure during the morning hours. Firefighters responded to the scene and battled the blaze extensively. At 11:10 a.m., firefighters declared the incident under control.
One person was injured, and the dog that lived inside of the home was killed.
The injured victim was transported to a local hospital for medical care.
Firefighters were required to respond the next day at around 9 a.m. to extinguish the fire, which had rekindled in the home.
At this time, the incident remains under investigation.
