Rindge, NH (November 20, 2023) – A severe two-vehicle collision resulted in one fatality and critical injuries on Route 119. The incident involved a 2021 GMC Sierra and a 2020 Subaru Legacy. Emergency crews had to use the Jaws of Life to rescue the occupants.
One person was pronounced dead at the scene. Another suffered severe head and facial injuries and was taken to UMASS Memorial Medical Center. The names of the victims are withheld until families are notified.
The crash at the intersection of Cathedral Rd and Rte 119 involved the Subaru not stopping and colliding with the Sierra. Preliminary findings suggest the Subaru’s failure to adhere to traffic rules caused the accident.
The incident occurred on Saturday, November 18, and led to a four-hour closure of Route 119. Multiple emergency units, including fire departments and ambulances from surrounding areas, responded to the scene.
Authorities are conducting ongoing investigations and urge any witnesses with information to contact Officer Nick Lavoie or Police Chief Rachel Malynowski at the Rindge Police Department.
