Rindge, NH (November 19, 2023) – A catastrophic multi-vehicle collision occurred on Friday, November 17, at around 7:31 p.m. At the intersection of RTE 119 and Payson Hill Rd. The Rindge Police and Fire Departments, along with several other emergency teams, were called to the scene where a rollover accident had taken place.
A 2020 Subaru Legacy, found facing southeast in the middle of RTE 119, had severe damage. Its sole occupant, with head and facial injuries, was rushed to UMASS Memorial Medical Center. Nearby, a 2021 GMC Sierra lay on its side against a utility pole, heavily damaged. Two individuals trapped inside were extricated by rescue teams. One, in critical condition, was also transported to UMASS Memorial Medical Center. The other was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.
The preliminary investigation revealed that the Subaru, traveling southbound on Cathedral Rd, failed to stop at a stop sign, colliding with the GMC. The road was closed for about four hours for investigation and vehicle recovery by Gauthier’s Auto Services and Cliff’s Auto Body & Repair.
The Rindge Police Department continues to investigate the accident and urges witnesses to come forward with any additional information. Names of the involved parties have not been released pending notification of next of kin. Further updates are expected as the investigation progresses.
