Riverdale, MD – Two Children Fatally Struck by Van Near Elementary School

Riverdale, MD (November 21, 2023) – A tragic incident occurred on Monday morning in Riverdale, Maryland, resulting in the deaths of two children. 10-year-old Shalom Mbah and 5-year-old Sky Sosa were hit by a van around 8 a.m. at the intersection of Riverdale and Taylor roads as they walked to their elementary school.

The Prince George’s County Police Department is investigating the accident and plans to hold a news conference on Tuesday morning. Meanwhile, parents have raised concerns about the lack of crossing guards near the school, suggesting that this tragedy could have been avoided with proper safety measures in place.

Adam Brooks, a 5th-grade student at the school, expressed deep sorrow over the loss of his classmate. The community is mourning the loss of these young lives, and authorities are continuing their investigation into the circumstances of the accident.
