Riverhead, NY (July 26, 2023) – Two people were injured in a head-on collision on Route 58 east of the Long Island Expressway on Tuesday, July 25, 2023.
One was seriously injured.
Riverhead Police reported that Stuart Clark, 57, driving a westbound 2008 Honda Accord on Route 58, crossed over the turning lane and collided with Ruth Iglesias, 38, driving an eastbound 2010 Toyota Highlander, in front of the Gulf gas station.
The Honda overturned on the gas station driveway apron.
At 2:35 p.m., 911 reported the crash. Iglesias and Clark were taken to Peconic Bay Medical Center by Riverhead Volunteer Ambulance Corps.
Clark had severe injuries.
Authorities are still investigating the crash and its causes.
