Rochester Hills, MI (September 13, 2023) – Two men died in separate crashes on Oakland County roads on Monday, September 11, 2023, causing significant traffic delays.
The fatal incidents happened on M-59 in Rochester Hills and Telegraph Road in Bloomfield Township.
An early collision on M-59, between John R and Dequindre roads, occurred around 5:35 a.m.
A 2006 GMC Sierra pickup, heading westbound, lost control and crossed the median, colliding with a 2008 Ford Taurus driven by Lee James Hershman, 57. Hershman, who wore a seatbelt, succumbed to his injuries in the hospital.
The pickup’s driver, a 25-year-old from Brandon Township, is in critical condition.
The investigation is still ongoing.
