Rochester Hills, MI (September 13, 2023) – On Monday, September 11, 2023, a three-car collision claimed the life of an Oxford man.
Lee James Hershman, 57, drove a 2008 Ford Taurus eastbound on Michigan 59 between John R and Dequindre roads at 5:35 a.m.
A westbound 2006 GMC Sierra, operated by a 25-year-old Brandon Township man, lost control.
The truck crossed the median using an “Authorized Vehicles Only” pathway, striking Hershman’s car and a 2020 Buick Envision.
Hospital staff later pronounced Hershman dead.
The GMC Sierra driver is now in critical condition at a local hospital.
The Buick’s driver, a 58-year-old Pontiac woman, remained uninjured.
The investigation is still ongoing.
