Rochester, MN – Collision on EB HWY 14 Near 40th Ave SE Leads to Injuries

Rochester, MN (November 20, 2023) – Early Monday morning, at 7:48 a.m., a collision on EB Highway 14 near 40th Avenue SE in Rochester, Olmsted County, resulted in multiple injuries. A Dodge turning to 40th Avenue SE from westbound Highway 14 collided with a westbound Pontiac. Derek John O’Brien, 28, from Pine Island, MN, driving the Pontiac, sustained injuries and was treated at St. Mary’s Hospital.

The Dodge’s driver, Megan Kristine Ellinghuysen, 26, from Rochester, MN, was uninjured. Jayden Randal Nguyen, an 18-year-old passenger in the Dodge, also received injuries and was hospitalized at St. Mary’s. Olmsted County Sheriff’s Office and Rochester Fire Department responded to the scene. The circumstances leading to the collision are still under investigation.
