Pedestrian Injuries in Rochester
In one recent year, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration reported that, out of 207 car accident-related fatalities in New York City, 45% of them, 95, were pedestrians.
Pedestrians are expected to obey traffic signals, cross the street inside of a crosswalk, and yield to any car with the right-of-way. In the event that a pedestrian does make a mistake, however, because of the serious threat posed by a collision, drivers have an obligation to exercise every caution when it comes to avoiding a pedestrian-involved accident.
Pedestrians are frequently involved in New York car accidents caused by driver inattention, including distraction stemming from cell phone use, drinking and eating, and other irrelevant behaviors taking place behind the wheel. Pedestrians are also in harm’s way anytime a driver pulls away from or backs out of a parking spot, driveway, or alley without first checking their surroundings, including their blind spots.
Being seriously injured in a pedestrian accident of any kind is not only painful and scary but can also be overwhelmingly difficult in many ways. Our team at Local Accident Reports understands this.
