Rochester, NY (May 12, 2023) – Fire crews were called to a home on Maxwell Avenue in Rochester’s 19th ward on Friday night, May 12th, to respond to a house fire. According to reports, the fire began in the attic of the house.
Thanks to the quick action of neighbors, one person was rescued from the house and treated for burns to the upper body. It took the fire department about 20 minutes to get the fire under control.
Upon further investigation, it was discovered that there were no working smoke detectors in the house.
The cause of the fire is still unknown, but the injured party is being treated and is expected to make a full recovery. Our hearts go out to the injured individual, and we hope they recover quickly.
