Rochester, NY (July 14, 2023) – An officer and two other people were injured in a car crash that involved a Rochester Police Department officer that was responding to the scene of a shooting early Wednesday evening, July 12.

At around 4:00 p.m., an officer was en route to a shooting that occurred on Genesee Street. As the patrol unit past the intersection of Ames Street and Wilder Street, it collided with multiple other vehicles.

The officer and two other people involved in the accident were all injured. The three victims were transported to area hospitals, where they underwent medical care.

The police department is actively investigating the accident.
