Rochester, NY (July 5, 2023) – A woman was transported to an area hospital for the treatment of injuries following a multi-vehicle accident that took place in Rochester on Sunday, July 2.
Reports provided by the Rochester Police Department show that at around 6:30 p.m., an individual stole a pickup truck and was traveling north on Dewey Avenue during the evening hours. The vehicle ran a red light at the intersection of West Ridge Road and struck a second vehicle. The impact of the collision caused the pickup truck to spin around and strike three additional vehicles at the intersection.
A 57-year-old woman that was driving one of the vehicles was transported to an area hospital for emergency care as a result of injuries that she suffered in the accident.
The driver of the stolen truck, identified as a 45-year-old man, had to be extricated from his vehicle. He was rushed to Strong Hospital for emergency treatment. A 37-year-old woman involved in the accident also suffered injuries and was transported to strong hospital.
At this time, the incident is being investigated.
