Rogersville, MO – Fatal Crash on Route D – 17-Year-Old Male Killed

Rogersville, MO (July 17, 2023) – A 17-year-old Springfield boy died in a crash near Rogersville on Sunday, July 16, 2023.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reported that a 2020 BMW X3 veered off Route D, overturned, and ejected one person at 2 a.m.

Sadly, the 17-year-old succumbed to his injuries at the scene.

The Springfield driver and Rogersville passenger survived the crash.

The driver attempted to flee but was apprehended and is currently in the Greene County Jail awaiting formal charges.

Authorities noted that the driver was visibly intoxicated.

This crash marks the 73rd fatal crash for MSHP Troop D in 2023.
