Rogersville, MO (July 24, 2023) – Two teenagers suffered severe injuries in separate accidents on Saturday, July 22, 2023.
Around 2:30 a.m., a 17-year-old from Rogersville was driving a Yamaha motorcycle on Route U, three miles south of Rogersville, when he was rear-ended by a Ford Focus driven by 26-year-old David Gula from Sparta.
The impact threw the teen off the bike, despite wearing a helmet.
He was taken to Cox South by ambulance.
Gula veered off the road after the collision, hitting a utility pole but remained uninjured.
At 4 a.m., south of Buffalo, a 15-year-old from Buffalo lost control of a Ford truck, crashing into an embankment and fence.
He was ejected from the vehicle and suffered severe injuries.
He was airlifted to Mercy Springfield Hospital.
Both accidents are under investigation, with no reported impairment or distraction for either driver.
