Royal Oak, MI (January 16, 2025) – A Michigan State Police trooper was injured Wednesday evening when a vehicle rear-ended their patrol car during a traffic crash investigation on Interstate 75 near 11 Mile Rd. The incident occurred around 5:00 PM, prompting an emergency response from authorities.
Troopers from the Metro North Post were at the scene of an earlier crash, blocking the left lane of southbound I-75, when the driver of a Pontiac G6 failed to move over and struck the stopped patrol vehicle. Emergency responders provided immediate assistance, and the injured trooper was transported to a local hospital for evaluation and treatment. Thankfully, the trooper’s injuries were reported as non-life-threatening, and they were later released from the hospital.
