According to state traffic data, pedestrian fatalities account for a notable percentage of roadway deaths in Arkansas each year. Many incidents occur in low-light conditions, emphasizing the importance of caution for both drivers and pedestrians. Drivers are reminded to remain vigilant, particularly in areas where pedestrians may unexpectedly enter the roadway. Pedestrians, in turn, should use designated crossings and stay visible to approaching vehicles.
