According to the Logan County Sheriff’s Office (LCSO), deputies responded to the 2500 block of Highland Lick Rd at approximately 10:06 a.m. after receiving reports of a two-vehicle crash.
Upon arrival, deputies found that both drivers were unable to exit their vehicles due to their injuries. Emergency responders, including the Russellville Rural Fire Department and Logan County EMS, arrived to provide medical care.

The force of the impact caused Mayes’ vehicle to flip in the roadway.
Both Buchanon and Mayes sustained injuries and were transported from the scene for further treatment. The extent of their injuries has not yet been disclosed.
The Russellville Police Department and Russellville Rural Fire Department also assisted at the scene. Authorities continue to investigate the crash to determine the exact circumstances surrounding the incident.
