Rutherford County, NC (December 10, 2024) – The North Carolina Highway Patrol (NCHP) has confirmed that five people are dead following a tragic crash on the Bostic-Sunshine Highway. The incident occurred around 5:46 PM when one vehicle traveling north crossed the centerline and collided with another vehicle traveling south. The impact caused both vehicles to catch fire.
Emergency responders were quick to the scene, but unfortunately, five individuals lost their lives in the crash. At this time, authorities have stated that neither speed nor alcohol are believed to have been contributing factors to the collision.
