Rutland Twp., OH (March 13, 2025) – Clay Ihle, 70, of Rutland, tragically lost his life Wednesday morning in a crash involving a car and a farm tractor on State Route 124, according to the Ohio State Highway Patrol.
Authorities reported that the collision occurred around 8:15 a.m. near milepost 124 in Rutland Township. Investigators said a 24-year-old man driving a car struck the rear of a farm tractor. Emergency responders transported Ihle to Holzer Medical Center in Meigs County, where he was later pronounced deceased.
Meigs County Sheriff Scott Fitch confirmed that Ihle was the current county treasurer and had previously served as a county commissioner.
It remains unclear if the driver of the car will face charges. The crash remains under investigation.
