San Angelo, TX ( July 19, 2023) – A collision on July 17th, 2023, involving a Freightliner, SUV, and motorcycle, resulted in the tragic loss of a 2-year-old’s life and injured four people.
According to the DPS (Department of Public Safety) press release, preliminary investigations revealed that a Ford Edge SUV and a motorcycle were traveling southbound on U.S. 87 in the right lane.
The SUV was following the motorcycle. At the same time, a Freightliner was also traveling southbound on U.S. 87 in the right lane but failed to control its speed.
As a result, it collided with the SUV, which then collided with the motorcycle, causing all vehicles to overturn and come to rest on the roadside.
The driver of the SUV was taken to Shannon Medical Center with injuries.
Two passengers, a 2-year-old and a 4-year-old, were in the SUV. Sadly, the 2-year-old was pronounced dead by Justice of the Peace Susan Werner.
The 4-year-old was also transported to Shannon Medical Center with injuries.
The motorcyclist and the Freightliner driver were taken to the hospital with injuries.
