San Antonio, TX ( July 20, 2023) – A tragic accident occurred on Interstate 10 on the East Side of San Antonio, resulting in the death of a 56-year-old man.

The incident occurred at approximately 1:50 p.m. in the 12500 block of Interstate 10 East, between Loop 1604 and FM 1518.

According to a preliminary report from the San Antonio Police Department (SAPD), the man was on the side of the road, tending to his vehicle being towed.

A 2007 Chevrolet Avalanche swerved to avoid a slow-moving vehicle and struck him.

The driver of the Chevrolet Avalanche stayed at the scene and promptly called the police.

The victim was immediately taken to the hospital for medical attention, but tragically, he was pronounced dead due to the severity of his injuries.

Authorities stated that the driver of the Avalanche cooperated fully with the investigation.
