San Jose, CA – Car Accident at King Road and Havana Drive, One Fatality

San Jose, CA (July 20, 2023) – Late on Tuesday, July 18, 2023, a driver struck three pedestrians in a tragic car accident at King Road and Havana Drive in San Jose.

The deadly crash occurred around 11:40 p.m., as confirmed by the San Jose Police Department press release.

A 2004 Chevrolet Tahoe SUV driver was southbound on King Road when a woman and her children tried to cross westbound outside a crosswalk.

Despite having a green light on Havana Drive, the driver struck the three pedestrians.

The older child and woman were taken to the hospital, but the infant girl died.

The investigation is still ongoing, and the driver of the Tahoe cooperated with authorities.

The Santa Clara County Coroner’s Office has not released the infant’s name.
