San Jose, CA (December 14, 2024) – A vehicle collision with injuries occurred Saturday morning on northbound SR-87, just south of the Curtner Ave interchange in San Jose. The crash involved a white Volkswagen Golf and a dark-colored pickup truck, with the Volkswagen blocking the #3 lane and the pickup truck in the center divider.
Emergency responders, including paramedics from San Jose Emergency Medical Services (SJ EMS) and California Highway Patrol (CHP), quickly arrived at the scene to assist those involved. The individuals involved were treated at the scene for unknown injuries, and further medical evaluation was arranged as needed.
The collision caused significant traffic disruptions, with one lane blocked for a period of time. A towing service, Unique Tow, was requested to remove the vehicles from the scene, and all lanes were reopened by 8:13 AM, allowing traffic to flow smoothly again.
The cause of the collision remains under investigation by CHP.
Our thoughts are with those involved, and we hope for a quick and full recovery for those injured in the crash.
Traffic Collisions in California
California’s highways, like SR-87, often see vehicle collisions due to the volume of traffic and the complexity of road conditions. Incidents that block lanes, such as this one, can lead to significant delays, particularly in high-traffic areas. Drivers are reminded to stay alert and drive cautiously, especially when navigating multi-lane roads with frequent merging and high-speed traffic.
To help reduce the likelihood of collisions, drivers are encouraged to maintain a safe distance from other vehicles, follow posted speed limits, and avoid distractions while on the road.
If you are involved in a collision, it’s important to prioritize safety by contacting emergency services, documenting the scene, and seeking medical evaluation, even for minor injuries. Consulting with legal or insurance professionals can help ensure that all claims are handled appropriately.
