San Jose, CA (December 14, 2024) – An injury collision occurred early Saturday morning on southbound I-280 near the SR-17 interchange. The crash involved a silver Ford SUV, which sustained major front-end damage. The vehicle was initially blocking lane 1 before being moved to the right-hand shoulder.
Emergency responders, including California Highway Patrol (CHP) units, arrived at the scene and provided assistance. The injured party was treated on-site, with reports indicating that the injuries were not life-threatening. Tow trucks were requested to remove the damaged vehicles from the scene.
Traffic was temporarily halted in lanes 1 through 4, with debris and floodwater from the incident causing additional delays. The roadway was cleared after the vehicles were moved, but authorities continued to manage the scene until all lanes were reopened. A total of five vehicles were reportedly involved in the incident, but only the Ford SUV was noted for requiring extensive towing.
CHP is investigating the cause of the collision and is working to determine the full sequence of events.
Our thoughts are with the individuals involved, and we hope for a swift recovery for those injured.
