San Mateo, FL (June 10, 2020) – A fatal pedestrian crash took place in San Mateo on the evening of June 8 that took the life of one male individual.
The accident occurred on US-17 near Boundry Road around 11 p.m. when a 28-year-old woman headed south on US-17 fatally struck a pedestrian traveling in the same direction on the road.
Paramedics were present at the scene of the collision and attempted to save the man’s life. He was promptly transported to a nearby medical center for treatment of life-threatening injuries but sadly lost his life shortly after arriving.
It is unclear whether or not the 28-year-old female driver will be charged.
A police investigation into the circumstances of the collision will continue.
