San Ysidro, CA (September 14, 2023) – Enrique Valerio Lopez, a 58-year-old from Tijuana, died in a DUI crash on Sunday, September 10, 2023.

The accident occurred around 5:30 a.m. on the 805 Freeway near the 905 Freeway.

Lopez was driving a Honda SUV when a speeding Volkswagen coupe hit it from behind.

The Honda went out of control and left the road, while the Volkswagen hit a center divider.

The 21-year-old Volkswagen driver from Escondido was hospitalized and later arrested for DUI.

The investigation is still ongoing.
