Santa Ana, CA – Crash with Cement Truck at 2400 E. 17th St.,1 Dead,1 Injured

Santa Ana, CA (July 24, 2023) – A sedan driver was killed and his passenger seriously injured in a collision with a cement truck in Santa Ana on Saturday, July 22, 2023.

The incident occurred just after 8 a.m. at 2400 E. 17th St., as reported by Santa Ana police.

The driver, whose identity was withheld, died at the scene.

The car exited State Route 55 (Costa Mesa Freeway) onto 17th Street at high speed when it hit the stationary truck in the left turn lane.

The car’s female passenger was transported to the hospital in critical condition.

The truck driver remained at the scene and cooperated with the authorities.

It is yet uncertain if drugs or alcohol contributed to the crash.
