Schenectady, NY (February 8, 2023) – Authorities with the Schenectady Police Department were alerted to the scene of a motor vehicle accident on Wednesday morning, February 8th. The crash, which resulted in injuries, happened on Interstate 890 at around 9:30 a.m.
A preliminary investigation determined that two or more vehicles collided in the westbound lanes of the Interstate near Exit 9 to Route 7/Curry Road. After receiving a call concerning the crash, 911 dispatchers sent emergency crews to the scene.
Paramedics arrived in the area where they worked to help those involved in the crash. At least one vehicle occupant had to be hospitalized to undergo treatment for sustained injuries. There are no details currently available on the conditions of the patients.
Authorities with the SPD are investigating the cause of the collision.
