Scott, MO (November 6, 2024) – A significant traffic accident occurred on November 5, 2024, at approximately 4:40 PM on Hwy HH, half a mile north of Sikeston. The incident involved three vehicles and resulted in injuries for two individuals.
Preliminary reports indicate that the collision happened when a 2004 Chevrolet Silverado, driven by a 23-year-old male from Chaffee, MO, struck the rear of a 2016 Dodge Journey, which was occupied by a 57-year-old male from Sikeston, MO. Both the Dodge Journey and a 2021 Honda Accord, driven by a 34-year-old female from Sikeston, MO, were stopped in traffic when the Silverado collided with the Dodge Journey, subsequently impacting the Honda Accord.
Emergency responders were dispatched to the scene to assist those involved in the accident. The drivers of both the Dodge Journey and the Honda Accord sustained injuries and were transported to Missouri Delta Medical Center for evaluation and treatment. Fortunately, all individuals were wearing safety devices at the time of the collision.
The Chevrolet Silverado was deemed a total loss and was removed from the scene by D and K Wrecker, while the Honda Accord was also towed away by Lowes Towing. The Dodge Journey suffered moderate damage and was similarly towed by D and K Wrecker.
The Scott County Sheriff's Department is currently investigating the circumstances surrounding the crash.
