Shelby County, OH (October 11, 2024) – A tragic accident occurred overnight on October 11, resulting in a fatality. The incident was reported at approximately 2:17 a.m. on I-75 northbound, near milepost 86. The Piqua patrol post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol is currently investigating the circumstances surrounding the crash.
Preliminary reports indicate that the driver of a Jeep Grand Cherokee lost control and drove off the right side of the roadway, colliding with a Freightliner Cascadia tractor trailer that was parked on the shoulder. Unfortunately, the driver of the Jeep was pronounced deceased at the scene by medical personnel. The driver of the freightliner reported no injuries.
Emergency services, including Sidney Fire and EMS, as well as the Shelby County Coroner’s Office and Wrecker’s Towing, assisted at the scene to manage the aftermath of the accident.
