Sheshequin Township, PA (July 24, 2023) – On Saturday afternoon, July 22, 2023, a tragic DUI crash occurred in Sheshequin Township, resulting in one fatality.
The Pennsylvania State Police reported that around 1 p.m., two vehicles collided on North Rome Road.
The first vehicle, traveling northbound, crossed the solid yellow double centerline into the southbound lane, striking the second vehicle head-on.
The impact caused the first vehicle to overturn at the bottom of an embankment while the second came to rest against a tree.
The second vehicle’s driver lost their life due to the crash, while the passenger sustained serious injuries.
The driver of the first vehicle, found under the influence, is facing charges.
The authorities are investigating, and the victims’ names have not been disclosed.
The Rome Volunteer Fire Department, Ulster Volunteer Fire Department, and Guthrie EMS assisted at the scene.
