Sioux City, IA (March 12, 2025) – A driver lost their life Tuesday morning following a multi-vehicle collision on Highway 75 near C-80, just north of Sioux City.
Sioux City Police and emergency crews responded to the crash around 8:40 a.m., where they discovered a Dodge pickup truck overturned on its roof. The driver was found unconscious inside the vehicle, and despite efforts from first responders, they did not survive. Their identity has not yet been released.
According to investigators, the crash happened when an SUV pulling onto Highway 75 from C-80 crossed in front of the southbound Dodge pickup. The pickup struck the passenger side of the SUV before veering off the roadway into a ditch, where it flipped onto its top.
As the pickup crashed, the attached trailer swung around and struck a third vehicle, a Toyota Rav4, which had been stopped at a stop sign on C-80. There is no word yet on any additional injuries sustained in the crash.
Authorities are continuing to investigate the circumstances leading up to the collision. No charges have been announced at this time.
