Solimar Beach, CA (July 19, 2023) – On Monday night, July 17, 2023, a tragic incident occurred in the Solimar Beach area, resulting in the death of a man struck by a car on Highway 101.
The California Highway Patrol received collision reports between Ventura and La Conchita around 9 p.m.
The man, driving a Nissan Pathfinder, ran out of gas and pulled over on the right shoulder.
Unfortunately, outside the vehicle, he was involved in an accident with a pickup truck under unclear circumstances.
The man, believed to be in his 60s or 70s, was dead at the scene.
The driver of the pickup truck stopped and cooperated with the authorities.
Further details regarding the accident have not been released.
The investigation remains ongoing.
