Solomons, MD (December 18, 2022) – A medical helicopter was requested at the scene of an accident that took place in the Solomons area on Wednesday evening. At around 10:15 p.m., on December 14, officials were notified that they were needed at the scene of a crash on the government Thomas Johnson Bridge.
According to authorities, multiple vehicles collided on the roadway during the evening hours. The incident blocks multiple travel lanes in the area, causing extensive delays.
Two people suffered injuries as a result of the crash. One victim was transported by ambulance to MedSTAR St. Mary’s Hospital for further care. The second victim was flown to a local trauma center for emergency medical treatment. Two other victims refused care at the scene.
Emergency crews left the scene just before midnight that evening. At this time, the incident remains under investigation.
