South Miami-Dade, FL – Hit-and-Run Incident Leaves Woman Injured

South Miami-Dade, FL (July 27, 2023)-  A woman was injured in a hit-and-run in South Miami-Dade and was taken to the hospital via helicopter.

Wednesday night, July 26, 2023, at approximately 9 o’clock, an accident occurred at U.S. 1 and Southwest 296th Street intersection.

The victim was getting out of her SUV to check on damage after a minor collision when a fleeing driver struck her.

The victim was taken by paramedics to Baptist Health Homestead Hospital and then transferred via helicopter to Jackson South Medical Center.

Authorities are speaking with the Homestead resident, who called them later and reported hitting an object.
