Southampton, NY (April 29, 2021) –  One person was killed and another was left seriously injured following a two-vehicle accident that took place in the area of Southampton. The collision was reported at around 1:42 p.m. on Thursday afternoon, April 29th.

According to local officials, two vehicles collided in the eastbound lanes of Sunrise Highway, near Exit 63. Emergency crews responded to the scene where they pronounced one of the drivers involved deceased a short time later. The other driver was transported to Peconic Bay Medical Center to be treated for serious but non-life-threatening injuries.

Authorities say that the two drivers were the only victims involved in the crash but no further details were reported. The events that led to this incident remain under investigation.
