Springfield Twp., OH – Pedestrian Fatality in SUV Collision on South Arlington Road

Springfield Twp., OH (November 19, 2023) – A tragic incident early Saturday claimed the life of a Canton man after an SUV and pedestrian collision. The Ohio State Highway Patrol reported the accident occurred just after 12:15 AM near East Warner Road on South Arlington Road.

46-year-old Robert Amell was walking alongside the road when he was struck by the SUV, according to the patrol’s release. The Summit County Medical Examiner pronounced Amell dead at the scene.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol is actively investigating the circumstances of this fatal crash to determine the contributing factors. Further details about the incident are awaited as the investigation continues.
