St. Croix County, WI – Wrong-Way Crash on I-94 Results in Fatality and Injuries

St. Croix County, WI (November 19, 2023) – A tragic wrong-way collision occurred on Friday morning on eastbound Interstate 94 near Baldwin, Wisconsin, resulting in one fatality. The Wisconsin State Patrol reported to the scene following reports of a driver traveling in the wrong direction.

The 26-year-old driver from Hammond, Wisconsin, tragically lost her life after colliding with a semi-truck heading eastbound. The semi-truck driver, a 59-year-old man from Coon Rapids, Minnesota, sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to the hospital.

The crash necessitated a detour of eastbound traffic on I-94 during the subsequent investigation. The Wisconsin State Patrol is actively investigating the circumstances of the collision to determine contributing factors and further details. The investigation is ongoing, with more information expected to be released as it becomes available.
