St. George, AZ (September 18, 2023) – A tragic rollover crash on I-15 near Cedar Pocket on Saturday afternoon, September 16, 2023, claimed two lives.
The Beaver Dam/Littlefield Fire Department confirmed that an SUV carrying seven passengers was the only vehicle involved.
Three passengers, females in their 20s, were ejected when the SUV hit a guard rail. They fell into a ravine 30-40 yards away.
The vehicle experienced steering vibrations before the driver lost control, leading to the rollover.
Of the seven onboard, four wore seatbelts. The three unrestrained passengers were ejected during the crash.
Emergency responders from multiple agencies attended the scene.
They emphasized the importance of keeping lanes clear for emergency vehicles.
As of Saturday night, both southbound lanes on I-15 have reopened.
The investigation is still ongoing.
