St. Johns County, FL (July 7, 2023) – The Florida Highway Patrol reported a Thursday, July 6, 2023, crash in St. Johns County.
The crash claimed the life of an 8-year-old Kannapolis, North Carolina girl.
A 36-year-old man and an unidentified female passenger were seriously injured.
A Lexus GX460 carrying a 3-year-old girl and a 6-month-old baby crashed, causing minor injuries.
A semi-truck struck the Lexus in the center lane of I-95 north of Mile Marker 326.
Due to traffic, the semi-truck stopped in the northbound center lane with another vehicle behind it, according to FHP.
Unfortunately, the Lexus driver didn’t see the still cars, swerved left, lost control, and spun toward the center lane, colliding with the trailer’s left rear.
