St. Louis, MO (October 14, 2024) – A tragic pedestrian accident occurred on I-55, north of Meramec Bottom Road, at approximately 12:22 a.m. on October 13. The incident involved a 2005 Nissan Xterra, which was traveling northbound when it struck a pedestrian in the roadway.
According to the investigation conducted by TPR M. Smith and MCIU TPR A. Borgic, the driver of the Nissan, 56-year-old Semir Hadzisalihovic from St. Louis, MO, was wearing a safety device at the time of the accident. The Nissan was declared a total loss and was towed from the scene by Miners Towing.
Unfortunately, the pedestrian, 46-year-old Frederick J. Seim from Columbia, MO, sustained fatal injuries as a result of the collision. He was pronounced dead at the scene by Medical Examiner J. Arnold at approximately 4:00 a.m. Emergency responders transported his remains to the St. Louis County Morgue via Lonnings Mortuary Service.
