The impact caused the rear of the Hyundai to collide with a 2020 Kia Optima, driven by 28-year-old Kaitlyn Berger-Winston from St. Louis, MO, who was in lane 5.
Following the collision, all vehicles were moved to the right shoulder of the highway prior to the arrival of emergency responders. The Hyundai Santa Fe sustained significant damage and was subsequently towed by Miners Towing. The Kia Soul also suffered total damage and was towed by the same service. The Kia Optima, while sustaining minor damage, was driven from the scene.
Kaitlin Hermann, the driver of the Hyundai, reported injuries and was transported by Fenton Fire Protection District to Mercy Hospital St. Louis for further evaluation. The other drivers involved in the accident did not report any injuries.
