Stanardsville, VA (February 10, 2023) – A fatal accident reported in Greene County on Thursday morning claimed one person’s life. At around 7 a.m. on February 9, the Virginia State Police received a notification that they were needed on-site at a traffic collision on Spotswood Trail.
Reports provided by VSP show that a collision between vehicles occurred in the 9000 block of Spotswood Trail during the morning hours. The incident prompted authorities to shut down a portion of the roadway near Billiard Court for several hours.
At least one person involved in the accident was fatally injured. The victim, only identified as an adult, was pronounced dead at the scene. No other injuries were reported.
The crash remains under investigation by the Virginia State Police at this time.
