Stark County, ND (August 16, 2020) – A fatal car accident occurred in Stark County Thursday that took the life of one individual.
Luella Larsen, 66, of Highland Beach, Florida, was killed in the fatal wreck that occurred at approximately 12:30 p.m. on the afternoon of August 6. The collision occurred on Highway 22 when Ryan Nicklay, 39, of Fargo, was headed south on Highway 22 in a 2015 Chevrolet Silverado. Larsen was headed in the opposite direction on the same highway when for unknown reasons, Nicklay’s Silverado crossed the center line and collided with Larsen’s vehicle, a 2015 Audi.
The head-on collision caused Larsen’s vehicle to come to a final stop in the center median. She was transported to CHI St Alexius Dickinson Hospital. Larsen passed away at the hospital on August 11 due to the injuries she sustained in the wreck.
Nicklay did not sustain any injuries in the crash. It is still unclear what caused his vehicle to cross over the centerline and collide with Larsen’s Audi.
A police investigation remains ongoing at this time and there is no word on whether or not charges will be filed against Nicklay.
No further information is available at this time.
