Staten Island, NY – Five NYPD Officers Struck, Injured by DUI in Elm Park

Staten Island, NY (May 30, 2021) – Five officers from the New York Police Department were hit by a car on Sunday, May 30th in Staten Island.

A source inside the department said that the plainclothes officers were putting up barricades in the area of Forest Avenue and Livermore Avenue in the Elm Park neighborhood at about 10:00 a.m. when they were struck.

Four of the officers were transported via ambulances to local hospitals in unknown conditions. The fifth officer declined medical attention at the scene. 

The driver, 39-year-old Brian Manning, remained at the scene and was taken into custody and charged with assault, driving while intoxicated, driving without a driver’s license, and refusing to take a breathalyzer test.
